Review
This score is short and sweet, but certainly packs a punch. When I first looked it up, I thought they had only released music from the motion picture album with lyrical songs from the film. However, to my surprise, it was a short album with the film’s OST along with a couple of lyrical songs, such as “Hold My Hand” from Lady Gaga. Overall this album, as I said, is short at only 41 minutes, but has some heavy hitting tracks such as “The Man, The Legend / Touchdown” that leans fully into an epic version of the original Top Gun theme. The handful of lyrical songs scattered through the album still maintained the Top Gun mood for me, though perhaps it’s because I know the general mood of the original (I have not seen this one yet) so I may be biased to some degree. Despite the album’s short runtime, it’s overall a fun listen!
