This one leaped out at me from behind the Blarney Stone (I know, I know…). But really, I did not expect such a peaceful and, well, beautiful score for a rom-com. Randy Edelman (who won an award for this score) brought traditional Irish sounds like the tin whistle and fiddle together with the sounds of a classic American romance (think Edelman’s While You Were Sleeping), piano and guitar riffing along with accordions and harmonicas. I loved the Irish-flair, though I felt that element dwindled a bit in the second half of the score. This is a great de-stressing and romantic composition, don’t hesitate to play it this Valentine’s Day!
