Review
This soundtrack opens with an epic main theme that immediately captured my attention, its plucked strings bringing to mind scenes of the ancient world. Some electronic motifs throughout the soundtrack remind us that this game also has a modern-day component, but the majority of the music sounds befitting of Ancient Greece. Enchanting vocals are present on a number of tracks like “Odyssey” and “The Shores of Megaris,” while many others feature peaceful melodies with plucked strings. “Medusa” has an edge with eerie hissing effects and creepy vocals that live up to the track’s name, and I assume it accompanies an in-game encounter with the monster. Overall, the composers keep the pace moving with ominous and intense tracks like “One-Eyed Monster,” featuring dramatic percussion, but often break up the tension with more tender themes like “The Sacred Land of Artemis.” This soundtrack is a good listen, and I imagine it’s a great companion to the game itself!
