Review
A soundtrack with electronic elements, occasional acoustic guitar and some fast-paced drums, Far Cry 6 is an exciting ride at times. Most of the tracks didn’t stand out to me (they were either action-heavy or foreboding), but a few of them have some interesting elements. For instance, “Valle de Oro” starts off with layered sounds that seem to have slightly different tempos, resulting in a rather unsettling motif. The first part of “The Guerrilla” caught me off guard with its acoustic strings and easy tempo, as it contrasted with the foreboding nature of the previous track (I personally tend to enjoy these softer motifs in soundtracks). I’m not much of a gamer and have not played Far Cry 6, but I do know a little bit about the game mechanics of the franchise. With that in mind, I’d say this soundtrack probably serves as great background music, even if it isn’t among my favorite scores.
