Review
This gorgeous soundtrack is broken into two parts (Disc 1 and Disc 2) and features the artist AURORA in quite a few of the tracks. Her ethereal voice adds a dreamlike element amid playful melodies, tender moments, and soaring orchestral pieces. The whole soundtrack has an expansive nature to it, which definitely brings to mind feelings of awe that could easily be felt when witnessing the beauty of the natural world. Some tracks, like “Orca Ramming,” remind us of the fear that ocean predators can instill, and others, like “Showdown at the Shore” and “Wrangel Island,” would just as easily fit in behind climatic action sequences in blockbuster films. Whimsical notes play together on tracks such as “Projectile Vomit,” “Journey to the Southern Ocean,” and “Wandering Albatross,” bringing to mind some of the lighter aspects of nature. BBC and David Attenborough have done a wonderful job of showing the natural world in a cinematic way over the years, and the music continues to impress in the same manner. Overall, this soundtrack is truly beautiful, and it has so many great tracks that it was hard for me to only pick a top 3. It certainly makes me want to check out the show!
