Review
Another gorgeous soundtrack from Austin Wintory, AGOS: A Game of Space shows once again how talented the composer is with more minimalist-style music. I discovered this score when I was looking at Wintory’s other albums, and I was pleasantly surprised to see he had composed for a space-themed game. The synth-y electronic music of AGOS: A Game of Space will have you daydreaming of stars, nebulas, and planets beyond our reach. It has an ambient quality that is beautifully calm and feels like drifting through space. Just as he does with the score for the ocean-themed game ABZÛ, Wintory captures AGOS’s setting expertly, with the soft synth notes giving a sense that we are exploring the vastness of space. There are a couple of moments in the tracks “Binary,” “Pulsar,” and “Black Hole” that get a little more intense, but never to a level that is over the top. Overall, this soundtrack is a very pleasant listen.
