Review
Opening with “The Blitz, 1940,” this soundtrack introduces us to a world very different from the land of Narnia. A pulsing tempo leads the charge, alongside dramatic strings and orchestration reminiscent of the bomber planes in the scene they accompany. However, the next track (“Evacuating London”) sets a lighter (if a bit melancholy) tone as the main characters head to the countryside and get closer to discovering Narnia. This score has a way of transporting you to another world. It’s up there in my top fantasy scores, among the likes of Howard Shore’s soundtracks for The Lord of the Rings and Ramin Djawadi’s Game of Thrones.
