Review
This charming soundtrack is a frequent listen of mine when I’m looking for something lighthearted and upbeat. I’ve listened to it in the background on many occasions while working or when I just need an easygoing, carefree and truly charming listen. The soundtrack album features several lyrical songs by the likes of Ray Charles, Billie Holiday, and Gene Kelly, but I always gravitate towards the score composed by Theodore Shapiro. The Intern is characterized by joyous guitar, plucked strings, woodwinds, piano, and more, and really puts me in a good mood. While not the most complex of scores, it’s great if you’re looking for simple cheer. It opens with with “Love and Work,” which features those plucked strings and backing orchestra, and ends with “Breathe Deeply Jules,” which features piano and hopeful strings.
