Review
L.A. Noire is a true noir soundtrack that sounds like the perfect accompaniment to a hardboiled crime game. It’s a little too suspenseful for full-on ambient listening, but it has some great tracks that really bring to mind the brooding detectives and private eyes from the era of film noir (maybe pick and choose if you want to add a few to an ambient playlist). A couple of jazzy tracks like “J.J.” break up the tension a bit, and the last three tracks on the album, “(I Always Kill) the Things I Love,” “Guilty,” and “Torched Song,” are jazzy lounge songs performed by singer Claudia Brücken. Overall, this is a fitting soundtrack for its medium, with some excellent noir tracks.
