Review
A beautiful soundtrack with a classical feel, Emily proves once again the talent of composer Abel Korzeniowski. With strings, piano, and even some choir and organ, this soundtrack has gorgeous uplifting tracks, melancholic melodies, and desolate moments. It’s a beautiful soundtrack that’s wonderfully classical in sound, but with some unique elements that make it feel fresh (like the intriguing vocalizations on the track "Captain Sneaky”). When I started listening to this soundtrack, it sounded like it was going to be tonally more like Korzeniowski’s Romeo & Juliet soundtrack or Dario Marianelli’s Pride & Prejudice score. However, the soundtrack does take a desolate turn about halfway through, with tracks like “Terrified,” “Demise,” and “The Mask” setting a more dramatic tone. The highs and lows definitely tell a story, so it’s not the most consistent listen tonally (bear in mind if you’re just looking for background music) but a beautiful score nonetheless.
