Review
In the mood for something calming, whimsical, and nostalgia-inducing? Listen to the Christopher Robin score. This soundtrack is a frequent listen of mine (though I admittedly skip the lyrical songs) and it has some lovely piano motifs, whimsical elements and feel-good sounds. There is a melancholy to a lot of the tracks, but nothing too sad; it makes me nostalgic for simpler times in my childhood. Legendary Disney songwriter Richard M. Sherman (who wrote songs for Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and more) returned to write three new songs for Christopher Robin (with “Goodbye, Farewell” being sung by the cast). And while these songs have a different feel from the rest of the score, they certainly have the sound of classic Winnie the Pooh. Christopher Robin features so many lovely tracks, poignant melodies, and calming motifs. It captures a bit of the magic of the Hundred-Acre Wood while serving as a great backdrop to the nostalgic journey of an adult Christopher Robin reuniting with Pooh and company. But it’s also a beautiful score to have on in the background while going about your workday!
